The Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association is dedicated to building the right environment for our world-class athletes. Coaches are important partners in this journey and so we are developing strategies that will excite, challenge and allow coaches to push the national agenda to new levels.

A certain amount of commitment from the coaching fraternity across the country is required to achieve our goals and the JAAA looks forward to building relationships with Coaches so that together we may provide our athletes with every possible resource, support and motivation to excel.

The JAAA understands that in order to continue producing world class results for Jamaica it needs coaches with strong technical expertise who have passion and drive. The JAAA is committed through its leadership to motivate and renew relationships with our coaches.

This renewal process began in December 2004, with the election of a new executive committee, followed by the inclusion of several resource persons in the committee structure.

Executive member, Clive Walters, will work directly with key stakeholders in the coaching fraternity to create a clearly articulated vision and mission for the Coaches. We hereby extend an invitation to all such persons to seize the opportunity to avail of the training that will be available.

Jamaica is currently ranked in the top 10 in World Athletics. In fact, although gratified by the successes achieved to date, we lament the fact that so many highly talented athletes have surfaced from time to time, startled us with outstanding performances, only to seemingly falter and fade into obscurity.

How many more medals might have been won on the world stage, had some of those athletes been able to reach their full potential.
