For those trying to fill the big shoes of James Beckford, Jamaica's finest long jumper, Damar Forbes may be the best fit.  Like the high-flying Olympic and World silver-medallist, Damar left the parish of St. Ann, Jamaica as a little boy but kept the link with regular family trips to the Land of Wood and Water.

During his tenure at Louisiana State University (LSU), Damar boomed an 8.23 metre jump at the NCAA Championships to take second for LSU and move into third place behind maestro Beckford and Alain Bailey on the Jamaican all-time performers list.
